Why Coffee From a Coffeehouse Tastes Better Than Home Coffee
You've noticed it: the same beans, brewed at home, just don't taste quite like the cup you get at the shop. It isn't in your head. A few things really do make the difference.
Freshness
We roast in-house, in small batches, so the beans behind your cup are days old, not months. Coffee starts losing its best aromatics within a couple of weeks of roasting.
Grind size and consistency
Espresso, pour over, and French press each want a different grind, ground fresh and dialed in for that method — not one bag of pre-ground coffee doing double duty for everything.
Water and equipment
Commercial machines hold temperature and pressure far more precisely than a home drip machine, and filtered water keeps mineral buildup from dulling the flavor.
A barista who does this all day
Dialing in a shot, steaming milk to the right texture, timing a pour over — it's a skill our baristas practice constantly. That repetition shows up in the cup.
None of that means your home setup is wrong — just that there's a reason we still stop in on the way to work.
